Basic Information

Overview

CIDR is an information system developed to manage the surveillance and control of infectious diseases in Ireland. It also monitors organisms' ability to resist antibiotic drugs (antimicrobial resistance). Information from laboratories is entered electronically or manually into CIDR. This information is then linked to clinical and epidemiological information, provided by public health professionals.
