Overview

The Sentinel Counties Study of Viral Hepatitis enrolls all patients with acute hepatitis. The system is used to monitor incidence trends and transmission patterns for Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and other emerging viral hepatitis infections. In addition, the system is used to monitor the effectiveness of prevention and control programs for these diseases.
