Basic Information

Overview

Congress established the NBIC within the DHS to enhance the Nation's capability to integrate biosurveillance efforts. The Nation has many robust biosurveillance capabilities; yet some of these capabilities are uncoordinated. The NBIC serves as the designated government entity to synthesize and analyze information collected from across the spectrum of these organizations.
