Overview

The ICS collective network started by first linking clinical and public health laboratories for the surveillance of invasive diseases caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae. Beginning In 2000, ICS expanded surveillance of other invasive bacterial diseases caused by Haemophilus influenza, Neisseria meningitis, and groups A and B streptococcus.
