This model uses an SI model coupled with an aquatic population of V. cholerae to explore the effect of the aquatic reservoir on the development of endemic or epidemic cholera. It uses the model to assess how endemic cholera is maintained and the best approaches to controlling cholera outbreaks.

What is the role of the aquatic reservoir in promoting epidemic and endemic cholera? What regions are more likely to maintain endemic cholera? What are the best approaches to prevent and control cholera outbreaks? What are the best predictors of the fate of a community after the introduction of cholera?
