OpenMalaria can be used to simulate interventions against the mosquito vector and interventions that act against malaria in humans (for example, chemotherapy, or vaccines).

OpenMalaria is a general platform for comparing, fitting, and evaluating different malaria models, to ensure that the models reproduce patterns of infection and disease observed in the field in malaria-endemic areas.

Question

This is a model platform that can be used for comparing, fitting, and evaluating different model structures, and for quantitative prediction of effects of different interventions and integrated control programs.

Simulated infections are nested within simulations of individuals in human populations, and linked to models of interventions and health systems. Field data sets are used to optimize parameter estimates. This is an ensemble of 14 sub models.
